Kukui, Lehua, Mokihana & Lauaʻe
This bundle of green ti leaves is called a puolo. A gift or makana is this puoloʻs significance.
The Ke ʻAno Aloha logo there are four kinolau (kukui, mokihana, lauae and lehua). These kinolau represent four special loea hula (hula expert) that are spiritually connected to our Ke ʻAno Aloha event, they are: Kumu Al Makahinu Barcarse, Kumu John Keola Lake, Kumu Chinky Kaliula Mahoe and Kumu Kawaikapuokalani Hewett.
As you continue to perpetuate hula, please remember that HULA is a gift of aloha from Hawaii and Hawaiiʻs ancestors to you.
It is our responsibility to ALOHA and MALAMA this gift of hula.
